Otto-Pankok Schule visit Hummersknott

Tuesday 18th Sep 2012

Otto Pankok School from Mülheim has been coming to Darlington on an exchange since 1997. This year from the 18th till the 25th September 14 16‐year‐old students and two teachers stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in Darlington.

Visiting different schools like Hurwurth and Hummersknott showed our students the English way of learning at an English school, which we all enjoyed very much. Darlington and the different activities we did and people we met introduced the students to the English way of life, starting with a cooked breakfast, talking English to students from Darlington, having a tour round the civic theatre, seeing the show “Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat” and finally ordering fish and chips in a pub.

One of our highlights was definitely meeting the Mayer Paul Baldwin in the town hall.  After 8 fantastic days in Darlington we are all looking forward to a new exchange in 2013 to celebrate the 60th birthday of our twin town relationship to Darlington.
